Summary: 6th-grader and self-proclaimed genius Nate Wright faces his all-fourth dimension enemy, Gina, when they are paired to piece of work on a research newspaper together and she too gets a position on his intramural team.

Fun, quick read that integrates traditional text and comics within the book. Kind of a mix of a graphic novel and a regular book. I liked the starting time book and then I wanted to read the next i in the series. I think kids would actually like it, specially boys. Nate is confident well-nigh his comics and his ability to captain his fleeceball squad in the big school tournament. Not afraid to say what is on his listen, Nate is often in problem with the teachers, the principal, and the school corking. Things are going well until he is assigned to work on a Ben Franklin Project with the person he hates virtually in this world, Gina (the teacher's pet) AND she is picked to be on his fleeceball team.

Funny parts I enjoyed: Nate creates some funny and original comic strips well-nigh what he learns virtually Ben Franklin. Nate selects the perfect name for his fleeceball team, Psycho Dogs, simply when he doesn't tell the coach in fourth dimension, Gina names the squad the Kuddle Kittens.

I received an Advance Reader's Copy of Big Nate Strikes Once more by Lincoln Pierce. I did not receive whatever bounty for reviewing this book.

Kids who love Greg Hefley from Diary of a Wimpy Child are going to love Nate Wright. Parents will probably like Nate better.

Based on the comic strip "Big Nate" this series details the trials and tribulations of 6th grader Nate Wright. Nate finally has a adventure to win the coveted SPOFFY Trophy (Sports Played Only For Fun). He'due south been selected equally a squad helm for fleeceball – an indoor version of baseball. But nothing e'er goes smoothly. Kept after school by a teacher, Nate is unable to make it to the coming together to selection his team. He lucks out and his best friends Teddy and Francis are on the team, but so is his archenemy – A+ know it all Gina! Not only does he take to put up with Gina on his fleeceball team, he's paired with her on a social studies project. Can things get any worse or more hilarious?

The humor in this book is definitively age appropriate. As an elementary librarian I spend a good bargain of time around young children. The humor is correct on target, but it's not and so obnoxious (as some kid like humor – Captain Underpants for example – can be) that adults will not savour it also. I beloved Jeff Kinney and his Diary of a Wimpy Child series. But lets be honest, I call up I like Nate better. (Don't worry I'll nonetheless anxiously await any new Wimpy Kid books.) Nate is one of those likeable characters. Always up to something, simply and so mannerly you can't aid but like him. If you work in a schoolhouse, you lot know what I'm talking nearly.

As I mentioned in the beginning, I received an Advanced Readers' Copy of this book. I liked it so much that not only am I going to recommend it to my students, I've already ordered a hard cover copy of this and the offset book in the series for my library at home.

Recommended for tertiary form and upwards. (The AR reading level is iii.0 and even though Nate is a 6th grader, based on my experience I'm pretty certain tertiary grade and older will enjoy this book.)

Jake'southward Review: This book wasn't as adept as the beginning volume, only I withal really liked information technology. These books are so funny and they really remind me of Diary of a Wimpy Kid. I know Nate doesn't like him, but I call up Arthur is pretty absurd and he is a actually talented illustrator. Ellen is all the same an abrasive know information technology all and I wish she wasn't in information technology at all, I can run across why Nate is bugged by her. At that place was too much Gina in this, I don't like her at all. I thought it was really funny when Nate dropped food on Jenny Jake's Review: This book wasn't as proficient as the first book, merely I still really liked it. These books are and so funny and they really remind me of Diary of a Wimpy Child. I know Nate doesn't like him, but I remember Arthur is pretty cool and he is a really talented illustrator. Ellen is still an annoying know it all and I wish she wasn't in it at all, I can run into why Nate is bugged past her. In that location was too much Gina in this, I don't similar her at all. I thought it was really funny when Nate dropped food on Jenny, it totally made me laugh. I remember my friends will feel the same way every bit me, that it was a skillful book, but the 1st one was much funnier. I love the things that Nate says to himself, he reminds me of me sometimes, except for he has a ameliorate imagination. Then Mom when are yous buying me the next book -- you're going to Chapters on Saturday right (Mom's note: Darn, I was only going to buy Mommy books)

Jake'southward Rating: 9/10

Mom's Review: Honestly didn't fifty-fifty need to bother reading this since Jake told me the whole story when he was writing up his review. Must remind him virtually spoilers. Merely I read it anyway and I hold pretty much with Jake'due south opinion on this one. Information technology isn't as proficient as the beginning volume, but nonetheless definitely worth the price. Nate is a fun character and I really like the friendship between him and his ii buddies. It is very realistic the way they diss each other. Trust me, I have watched Jake with his buddies Brian and Matthew and they dear the dissing. Like the Diary of a Wimpy Child books, this is an awesome serial for reluctant readers. There is a adept mix between illustrations and writing to keep even the most reluctant reader interested. I really recommend these be part of all school and public libraries. Hopefully they will get the same attention as the Wimpy Child books. BTW, there is a Librarian in this and actually could you not have made her a little less stereotypical -- I know picky, picky.

Nate hangs out with his best friends, Francis and Teddy and has a crush on a girl named Jenny. The greatest in his sides are a bully named Randy and a smug, a daughter Nate really hates is a brainy girl named Gina who is obsessed with her bookish performance. A character forcefulness for Nate I recollect would be greedy, because he e'er so pushy with his friends and never wants to stop doing something with his friends

In my opinion, this book exceeds its predecessor on most levels. When at its best, the humor is fully on par with that of Jeff Kinney'due south Diary of a Wimpy Kid series, and the storyline shows improved depth and creativity when compared to Lincoln Pierce'southward first novel-in-cartoons about Big Nate.

In my opinion, this book exceeds its predecessor on near levels. When at its all-time, the sense of humour is fully on par with that of Jeff Kinney's Diary of a Wimpy Kid series, and the storyline shows improved depth and inventiveness when compared to Lincoln Pierce's first novel-in-cartoons about Big Nate.

Nate Wright faces two big upcoming events at the same time every bit the book gets under mode. The offset is the handing out of a major project in the social studies course of the intimidating Mrs. Godfrey, Nate'south least-favorite teacher. The project calls for two-person collaboration, and Nate is randomly matched for the assignment with his archenemy Gina, whose mostly obsequious attitude toward scholastic achievement and instructor relations gets on Nate's nerves to an extent matched past few other students. Now he has to find a way to work peaceably with Gina in coming upward with a quality social studies project, or he'll be in danger of failing the class.

The second big upcoming event as the book begins is the commencement of intramural sports flavor. Nate has been selected as captain of the Fleeceball (it'south an indoor version of baseball game) squad, and he's eagerly gunning to win the coveted SPOFFY trophy for the first time. His luck with intramural sports hasn't e'er been great in the by, just this twelvemonth he's entered in a sport at which he really excels, and he knows that his best opportunity to cop the award has finally arrived. There are merely three issues: Nate's athletic nemesis, Randy Betancourt, has been named captain of the squad that poses the virtually serious threat to Nate'south title, Gina (!) has been assigned as a player on Nate's side, and a mixup with the deadline for choosing team names has led to Nate's squad beingness named the "Kuddle Kittens"...which was, of course, Gina'south thought.

The social studies projection that Nate and Gina are collaborating on is to be a report about the life of Benjamin Franklin. Normally, Gina is a consistent A+ student and Nate barely gets passing grades because he doesn't care every bit much about excelling in academics, merely when Nate begins to read well-nigh Benjamin Franklin, he finds something of a kindred spirit in the American founding begetter. History takes on a deeper sense of existent life, and Nate begins to think that mayhap the project won't be a elevate afterward all.

The Fleeceball league championship and finished social studies projection come together in unexpected ways, creating some surprising heroes as the stories accomplish their mutual conclusions. I retrieve that Nate has really learned something past the terminate of this volume, and what he learns isn't at all obvious or heavy-handed. Lincoln Pierce is a good writer, and Big Nate Strikes Again is a fine instance of his overall artistic power.

Above all else, this book is ingeniously comical. I laughed as difficult as I had while reading the Diary of a Wimpy Child books, and I can't say that very often. Big Nate Strikes Again was a corking bargain of fun to read, and if Lincoln Pierce can go along up this level of humor in future books, and so I can't await to get my easily on them and see what more Nate has in store for united states of america. I would recommend Big Nate Strikes Again for anyone who enjoys the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series and appreciates their distinctive make of sense of humour, or for anyone who, as in my instance, absolutely loves the Big Nate comic strip and can't become enough of Nate Wright'southward adventures.

This series is very similar in style to Diary of a Wimpy Kid, but I liked it amend. It'south told from the perspective of Nate, an average heart-school-anile boy and is riddled with cartoons, just like Wimpy Kid. Nate(the team helm) names the team Psycho Dogs

Problems why it cant be called that:-

1)He is ever late cause he gets in problem
2)Gina is in his team

Just considering of these two problems

Information technology is called the "The Kuddle Kittens" aka the worst fleece brawl name.....

The book is and so hilarious way better than the Wimpy kid series for sure

Nates got the worst luck

1)Teddy and Francis are in a team
ii)Jenny and Aurthur are in a team
